The ED summons is unlawful and ought to be revoked right away: Kejriwal before interrogation

Hours before he was meant to appear at the ED headquarters, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal answered to the ED summons on Thursday, claiming that the ED notice was unlawful.

“The summons is a politically driven and unlawful document. The BJP ordered the notice to be sent. To make sure I am unable to travel to four states to campaign for elections, notice was provided. “ED needs to take the notice down right away,” Kejriwal declared. It’s unclear from the response if Kejriwal would miss today’s ED date.

On Wednesday, the AAP stated it learned that Kejriwal would be taken into custody following the interrogation. The party and the Delhi administration will then flee from jail, according to Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj. The party made it clear that it took into account the possibility of Kejriwal’s arrest on Thursday and put a plan B in place. But it is not known whether Kejriwal will attend the ED summons.

After Manish Sisodia’s bail was denied by the Supreme Court and it was said that one aspect about the transfer of Rs 338 crore is tentatively established, the case against the AAP in the liquor policy grew stronger. Leader of the Delhi BJP Manoj Tiwari said that Kejriwal would be arrested shortly in response to the Supreme Court’s decision.

Raaj Kumar Anand, an AAP minister, was also under investigation by the ED on Thursday for possible money laundering. However, officials stated that this was a distinct case based on a charge sheet submitted by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on allegations of making false statements in imports to evade customs for more than Rs 7 crore in addition to international hawala transactions.

In response to Kejriwal’s harsh response to the ED notice, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala stated that the AAP has to understand that now is not the time for Kejriwal’s theatrics and that he should go respond to the ED. “Are the judges not in your favor? Is there a personal grudge the Supreme Court has against you? Shehzad Poonawala sent a video message, “And when Congress leaders issue a statement that you (Kejriwal) are personally responsible for the sharab ghotala, are they also vindictive against you?”
