Indian origin student found dead in US 

Indian origin student was found dead in the US on Thursday, another incident unfolded in the United States as authorities discovered the lifeless body of a 19-year-old student of Indian origin, Shreyas Reddy Beniger. This occurrence marks the fourth such incident this year and the third within a week. Shreyas, who was enrolled at the Linder School of Business in Ohio, held an American passport, although his parents are reported to reside in Hyderabad, as informed by officials.

Authorities have explicitly stated that there is no evidence suggesting foul play or any indications of a potential hate crime in this specific case.

The Indian Mission in New York has expressed anguish 

Expressing deep sorrow, the Indian Mission in New York has informed that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of Shreyas Reddy Benigeri’s death.

In a statement posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Indian Consulate in New York stated, “We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Mr. Shreyas Reddy Benigeri, a student of Indian origin in Ohio. The police investigation is currently in progress. Foul play is not suspected at this stage. The Consulate is in constant contact with the family and is providing all possible assistance to them.”

4th Case This Year

Earlier this week, the lifeless body of Neel Acharya, a student at Purdue University, was discovered. His mother reported him missing on Sunday, and hours later, a body found on the university campus was identified as Acharya.

In a social media post seeking assistance to locate him, his mother Gaury mentioned that he was last seen by an Uber driver who had dropped him off at the campus.

Vivek Saini, an MBA student in Lithonia, Georgia, who worked part-time at a convenience store, had been providing assistance to a homeless man, Julian Faulkner. Saini would regularly offer chips, water, and even a jacket to Faulkner. However, on January 16, the 25-year-old student allegedly declined to provide free food, triggering a violent attack. According to the police, Faulkner assaulted Saini approximately 50 times during the frenzied incident.

In January, Akul Dhawan, an Indian student, was discovered deceased outside the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
