Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hosted a prominent roundtable with leading American tech CEOs, centered on innovation, collaboration, and India’s expanding tech sector. The meeting, held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, was a key event during PM Modi’s three-day visit to the U.S., with the second leg taking place in New York.
Hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering, the roundtable saw participation from leaders of companies specialising in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology.
The roundtable was attended by prominent CEOs like Google’s Sundar Pichai Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen.

PM Modi Highlights India’s Tech Progress in Fruitful Roundtable with CEOs
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi said, “Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation, and more. Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India.”
Urges Tech CEOs to Leverage Nation’s Growth Potential
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) released a statement highlighting that the roundtable centered on advanced sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductor technologies.
The MEA noted that the CEOs engaged in an in-depth discussion with Prime Minister Modi on the global technology landscape and the impact of these cutting-edge innovations on improving lives worldwide, including in India. They emphasized the role of technology in driving innovations that could transform the global economy and human development.
Regarding Artificial Intelligence, PM Modi underscored India’s policy of promoting ‘AI for All,’ emphasizing its ethical and responsible use. He assured the CEOs of India’s strong commitment to safeguarding intellectual property and creating an enabling environment for tech-driven innovation. The Prime Minister also encouraged the business leaders to tap into India’s growth potential, highlighting the country’s path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy.

MIT Professor Praises PM Modi
The discussion also explored investment opportunities in India’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem, where technological innovations are advancing quickly. Startups were seen as vital entry points for American companies into the Indian market, contributing to the creation of new technologies and solutions.
MIT Professor Anantha Chandrakasan, who chaired the session, thanked PM Modi and the CEOs for their input, reaffirming MIT’s commitment to leveraging technology for global good and enhancing collaboration between the U.S. and India in critical tech sectors.
