BMW teases new G 310 RR, to launch ahead of festive season

BMW Motorrad plans to launch an updated version of its entry-level supersport, the G 310 RR. The company has released a teaser image showing the bike’s rear section with the “RR” moniker. This new version will feature design updates and added features to attract more riders. BMW is aiming to boost the bike’s appeal before the festive season in India. The timing will help the brand take advantage of the rise in two-wheeler sales during this period.

BMW G 310 RR Becomes Brand’s Most Affordable Model

After discontinuing the G 310 R and G 310 GS, BMW now offers the G 310 RR as its most affordable motorcycle in India. The bike shares its base with the TVS Apache RR 310, which was recently updated. BMW is likely following a similar path to keep its supersport fresh in the market. The company has not yet confirmed a launch date. However, industry sources expect the updated G 310 RR to arrive before the festive season begins. This move positions BMW strongly in the entry-level supersport segment.

BMW G 310 RR to Gain Design and Feature Enhancements

The updated G 310 RR is expected to feature several cosmetic and functional upgrades inspired by the Apache RR 310. For instance, BMW may add aerodynamic winglets to improve stability and performance at higher speeds, along with new liveries that align with the brand’s modern design language. In terms of features, the supersport could receive launch control, cornering drag torque control, a second-generation race computer, sequential turn signals, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. These upgrades will likely place the G 310 RR ahead of its rivals in terms of technology, strengthening BMW’s presence in the affordable supersport category.

BMW G 310 RR May Retain Engine but Improve Power

Mechanically, the motorcycle is expected to remain largely unchanged, continuing to use the 312 cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine. However, BMW may tune the motor to increase performance figures closer to the Apache RR 310. Currently, the G 310 RR produces 33 hp of power and 27 Nm of torque, while the Apache RR 310 generates 37 hp and 29 Nm. If BMW raises the output, the G 310 RR will become more competitive and attractive to riders who demand performance as well as affordability. With these changes, the motorcycle could redefine expectations in its segment, combining proven engineering with new-age features and design.
