The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that the monsoon. Is moving downward towards coastal Kerala, Karnataka, and the Konkan-Goa region this week. A red alert has been issued, with heavy rain and thunderstorms expected in these states in the coming days.

School Closures Due to Heavy Rain and Red Alert in Goa and Kerala
The Goa education department announced a holiday for schools up to Class 12 on Monday. July 15, due to heavy rain in the coastal state following an IMD red alert in parts of the state. Additionally, the IMD issued a red alert for Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod. In Kerala for Monday, and an orange alert for Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Wayanad.Consequently, schools and colleges across six districts in Kerala will remain closed. On July 15 due to the expected heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra

While a red alert was issued for four districts in Maharashtra. the IMD also issued a warning for Mumbai and Palghar, and an orange alert for Thane, Raigad, and Pune. Heavy waterlogging has been reported in suburban areas of Mumbai due to continuous downpours and thunderstorms.
