Stars arrived on the red carpet for the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday night (early Monday in India). The ceremony began at 7 p.m. at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific. Emilia Pérez leads the pack with 13 Oscar nominees, but Wicked and The Brutalist are close behind.

The Oscars 2025 ceremony was an emotional affair, honoring firefighters who bravely battled the devastating January wildfires in Los Angeles, which claimed at least 29 lives.
This year’s Best Picture nominees included Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked.

Hoping to build on last year’s ratings boost—bolstered by a memorable Barbie-themed musical showstopper—producers enlisted Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo for a special performance. Doja Cat and Lisa from Blackpink also took the stage, adding to the night’s musical highlights.
For the first time, the event streamed live on Hulu, alongside its traditional US broadcast on ABC, reaching over 200 territories worldwide. In India, it was available on JioHotstar.
The ceremony was hosted for the first time by late-night comedian Conan O’Brien, bringing his signature humor to the prestigious event.
