Timothée Chalamet Triumphs at Golden Globes, Beats DiCaprio

Chalamet Wins Big at a Star-Studded Golden Globes Night

Timothée Chalamet led the winners at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards by taking home the best actor in a musical or comedy award for Marty Supreme. At 30, he outperformed major rivals such as Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney, strengthening his momentum in the run-up to the Oscars. Although DiCaprio missed the acting prize, his film One Battle After Another dominated the ceremony by winning four awards, including best musical or comedy film and best director. Irish actress Jessie Buckley also drew attention as she won best drama actress for Hamnet, which later secured an unexpected victory for best drama film.

Stars Deliver Emotional Speeches as Top Films Shine

Actors and filmmakers filled the night with emotional and memorable speeches. Chalamet called his first Golden Globe win after five nominations especially meaningful and thanked his family and partner Kylie Jenner. Jessie Buckley described her award as a “real honour” and praised the international team behind Hamnet, while director Chloé Zhao and producer Steven Spielberg shared their gratitude after the film’s surprise triumph in the drama category. Meanwhile, Sinners claimed the box office achievement and best score awards, and performers including Teyana Taylor, Rose Byrne, Wagner Moura and Stellan Skarsgård also won acting honours, capping a celebration of excellence across film and television.
