Yadgir of Karnataka now has direct Vande Bharat Express link to Bengaluru

Yadgir, a district historically known for developmental challenges, has achieved a significant milestone with the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express, directly connecting it to Karnataka’s capital, Bengaluru. On Saturday night, V. Somanna, the Minister of State for Railways, officially inaugurated the SMVT Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Vande Bharat Express (train number 22232), which will now include a stop at Yadgir, as reported by the Deccan Herald.

Enhanced Connectivity for Yadgir

The newly launched train will enhance the connectivity between Yadgir and Bengaluru. The schedule is as follows:

  • Departure from Yadgir: 5:55 AM towards Bengaluru
  • Evening Return from Bengaluru: 9:44 PM towards Kalaburagi

This development signifies a notable improvement in transportation for Yadgir, offering faster and more efficient travel options.

Significant Investment in Railway Infrastructure

Minister Somanna emphasized the state’s substantial investment in the railway infrastructure, with ₹2,900 crore allocated for upgrading 59 railway stations across Karnataka. Yadgir’s station is receiving an upgrade with a ₹7.5 crore investment, while Kalaburagi’s station will see the improvements worth ₹12.5 crore. This initiative aims to enhance the overall travel experience and stimulate regional development, according to the report.
