PlayStation gamers experienced a widespread outage affecting Sony ’s PlayStation Network (PSN), causing disruptions across multiple consoles, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PS Vita, and even older devices like the PlayStation 3. The official PSN Service Status page acknowledged the issue, stating, “You may encounter difficulties launching games, apps, or network features. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

Sony addresses affected Devices and Services
The service page highlighted the impacted categories, including “Other, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, Web.” The outage disrupted both gaming and network features on PSN, leaving users unable to access multiplayer games or even single-player games that required an online connection.

Error Code and System Update Issues
Some users encountered the error labeled “PS5 Error Code WS-116522-7,” which Sony’s error webpage linked to a failure in the system software update. However, offline games that do not require an internet connection continued to function without issues.
