Kohli’s celebration fires back as MI stumble in final over

Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally broke their 10-year drought at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday with a hard-fought win over Mumbai Indians. In a match filled with dramatic twists, RCB held their nerve in the final overs, thanks to a disciplined bowling performance, and walked away with two vital points. With three wins from four games, Rajat Patidar and team are back on track and now sit third on the points table. Meanwhile, MI continue to struggle, stuck in eighth place with only one win in five matches.

Kohli Roars, Krunal Shines as RCB Stun MI in a Final-Over Thriller

The Bengaluru-based franchise was all charged up after the big win as their former skipper Virat Kohli roared loudly in the middle of the ground after the fifth ball of the final over when MI lost Naman Dhir’s wicket. Krunal Pandya, who started his IPL journey with MI, returned to haunt back his former team and bowled a brilliant final over, which left Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma in agony while Kohli roared in ecstasy.

Kohli’s blazing fifty powered RCB past 200 against MI. His 67-run knock was laced with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Hardik’s 280-strike-rate cameo took MI close, but his wicket in the 19th over proved costly.

Meanwhile, Krunal held his nerve to bowl the final over when Mumbai needed 19 runs but lost three wickets including two on the first two balls. The left-arm spinner returned figures of 4-45 in Bengaluru’s third win in four matches.

Hardik (42) and left-handed Tilak Varma (56) put on 89 runs to turn on the heat with fours and sixes. Bhuvi got Varma, Hazlewood removed Pandya in the 19th.
