Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who lives in Tajpur, Bihar, studies at Modesty School. However, the teenage cricket sensation will not appear for his Class 10th board exams this year. For days, speculation surrounded his decision. Since he spent most of 2025 touring with the India U19 and India A teams, he barely found time to prepare. As a result, managing studies alongside a rising cricket career became extremely challenging.
The school had already submitted his examination form and issued his admit card. His exams were scheduled from February 17 to March 11 at Poddar International School. However, his coach Manish Ojha confirmed that Vaibhav is currently in Nagpur training for the upcoming IPL season. His father, Sanjeev Sooryavanshi, also clarified that cricket remains his top priority right now. At the same time, the family confirmed that he plans to appear for the board exams next year.
10th Boards Put Aside as IPL 2026 Preparations Begin
Meanwhile, Vaibhav has joined the Rajasthan Royals for their pre-season camp ahead of IPL 2026. The tournament begins on March 26, and the franchise has already started intense preparations. Therefore, he chose to dedicate his full attention to training and match readiness instead of preparing for his 10th board exams. Rather than splitting time between books and nets ahead of his 10th exams, he committed completely to cricket.
Coach Manish Ojha emphasized that Vaibhav trains daily in Nagpur and works closely with the team management. He follows a strict routine and focuses on improving his game before the season starts. Although academics, including his 10th studies, remain important, he believes this phase demands complete sporting focus. Consequently, he decided to postpone his exams rather than compromise on preparation.

From U19 Stardom to Global Recognition
Over the past year, Vaibhav has transformed into one of India’s most exciting young cricketers. He grabbed headlines in the IPL when he smashed a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans. With that knock, he registered the fastest hundred by an Indian in tournament history and became the youngest player to achieve the milestone. That innings instantly placed him in the spotlight.
Later, he toured England, Australia, and South Africa with the India A squad and delivered strong performances across formats. He scored heavily in youth tournaments and impressed selectors with his consistency. Although he faced a setback in the U19 Asia Cup final against Pakistan, he responded with a spectacular performance in the U19 World Cup final. There, he hammered 175 off just 80 balls and powered India to 411. Eventually, ICC selectors named him as an opening batter in the Team of the Tournament, further strengthening his reputation as a future star.
