With Mumbai struggling at 132/5 after 18 overs, Suryakumar launched a stunning counterattack. He smashed an unbeaten 73 off 44 balls, filled with powerful lofts and late flicks, and forged a crucial 57-run partnership with Naman Dhir in the final two overs a phase that produced a staggering 48 runs.

Suryakumar Leads as Mumbai Seal Record 11th Playoff Spot

“It was important for one batter to stay till the end,” he said. “We knew there would be an over worth 15–20 runs, so we just had to wait for it. Naman came in and brought great energy, which turned the game.” Delhi Capitals, who needed a win to stay in the playoff race, failed to recover after early blows and collapsed for 121. Jasprit Bumrah (3/12) and Mitchell Santner (3/11) led the bowling attack, sealing a 59-run victory and securing Mumbai’s record 11th playoff qualification the most by any team in IPL history.
