Soldierathon : Delhi Metro to run 3 AM services

To ensure smooth travel for participants of the PNB Soldierathon Marathon, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will start metro services at 3 am on select lines. The corporation announced this move on Friday and confirmed that services will run early on Sunday, April 5, 2026. This step helps participants reach the event venue, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on time and avoid delays during early hours. It also supports better planning for runners who need to report early for the marathon.

Moreover, this initiative reduces traffic pressure across the city during early morning hours. A large number of participants will travel for the event, so metro services will cut down the use of private vehicles. Fewer cars on roads will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion. This also creates a smoother travel experience for regular commuters who use the same routes during that time.

Soldierathon: Routes & timings

DMRC will operate early services on key corridors to manage the expected rush. These include the Yellow Line from Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre Gurugram. The Blue Line will run from Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida Electronic City and Vaishali. The Violet Line will connect Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh. These routes cover major parts of the city and link important residential and commercial areas.

Trains on these routes will run every 30 minutes between 3 am and 6 am. This schedule gives passengers enough options to plan their journey easily. It also helps manage crowd levels and avoids overcrowding at stations. After 6 am, DMRC will switch to the regular Sunday timetable. Normal operations will continue for the rest of the day without any changes.

Advisory for commuters and event participants

DMRC will continue normal services on all other lines as per the usual Sunday schedule. The corporation has not introduced any changes beyond the selected corridors. This approach ensures that daily commuters can follow their regular travel plans without confusion. It also keeps the system balanced for both event participants and general passengers.

Commuters and marathon participants should plan their travel in advance and check updates before leaving. They should confirm station opening times and entry points to avoid last-minute issues. The PNB Soldierathon Marathon will attract defence personnel, veterans, and civilians. Early connectivity will play a key role in managing the large crowd and ensuring the event runs smoothly.
