Some Pakistani fans, meanwhile, defended Naqvi, accusing Indian players of being disrespectful and unnecessarily politicizing the moment.The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is reported to have filed a formal complaint to the ICC, accusing Naqvi of violating protocol and turning a cricketing ceremony into a political stage. They also alleged that his presence and conduct at the presentation were “inappropriate” and not in line with the role of a neutral ACC chief.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has not released an official statement yet, but sources reveal that internal meetings are underway. Former players and analysts have urged cricket authorities to maintain neutrality and professionalism during international events.
