Speaking to the media in Dharamsala, Jay Shah stated, “Shami’s surgery is done, he is back in India. Shah further discussed the potential return of wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant in IPL 2024. “He is batting well, he is keeping well. We will declare him fit very soon. If he can play in the T20 World Cup for us, that will be a big thing. He is a big asset for us. If he can keep, he can play in the World Cup. Let’s see how he does in the IPL,” said Shah on Pant’s recovery and potential participation in the upcoming tournaments.
Shami’s IPL 2024 participation uncertain
A BCCI source had previously mentioned that the ankle injections did not yield the expected results, leading to the unavoidable decision of surgery. Shami’s participation in the IPL remains uncertain, adding another layer of intrigue to his comeback journey.
