Kimi Antonelli continues to rewrite Formula 1 history with his remarkable performances this season. The young Italian driver strengthened his reputation as a title contender after securing another major victory at the Miami Grand Prix. His latest success added a new record to an already impressive campaign.
Antonelli claimed victory at the Miami Grand Prix held at the Hard Rock Stadium and made history in the process. The 19-year-old became the first driver in Formula 1 history to convert his first three career pole positions into race wins. The achievement further highlighted his rapid rise in the sport.
Earlier this season, Antonelli had already broken several major records. He became the youngest-ever Formula 1 pole sitter at the Chinese Grand Prix and later became the youngest driver to lead the world championship standings during the Japanese Grand Prix weekend. His consistent performances have placed him among the sport’s brightest young stars.

With his third consecutive pole position in Miami, Antonelli also joined an elite group that includes legends like Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna. However, his latest milestone is something even those iconic champions never achieved in their careers.
Antonelli also became the first Mercedes driver since Lewis Hamilton to win three consecutive races. Hamilton had previously dominated the sport with Mercedes before Antonelli replaced him in the team’s lineup for the 2025 season.
Despite the historic accomplishment, Antonelli remained focused on future races. He said the team’s hard work and support from his family played a major role in his success. The young driver added that he plans to enjoy the Miami victory briefly before immediately preparing for the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix.
Antonelli’s winning streak has also created an interesting coincidence involving Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner. On each occasion Antonelli won a Formula 1 race this season, Sinner also lifted a major tennis title on the same day. Meanwhile, Antonelli’s third win in four races has extended his championship lead over teammate George Russell to 20 points.
