IPL 2026 Playoff Qualification Scenarios For All Teams

IPL playoff race has become more exciting as all 10 teams still have a chance to reach the top four, although some sides now face a much tougher road.

The Indian Premier League 2026 season is moving toward a thrilling finish, and the fight for playoff qualification has become extremely close. While Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru currently hold the top two positions, teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, and Chennai Super Kings are fighting hard for the remaining playoff spots.

After a slow beginning, Chennai Super Kings have made a strong comeback by winning three of their last four matches. Under captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, the team has revived its campaign and now hopes to collect enough points from the final four games. With every match becoming crucial, fans can expect intense competition until the final league stage fixture.

IPL Race For Top Four Gets Tighter

Punjab Kings remain in a strong position and need only two wins from their last five matches to confirm qualification with 17 points. Their healthy net run rate also gives them extra confidence. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also look comfortable and may qualify with two or three more wins because their net run rate remains one of the best in the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals both need two wins from their final matches to safely reach 16 points. Their positive net run rates keep them slightly ahead in the battle. However, Gujarat Titans face more pressure because their negative net run rate could hurt them badly even if they finish on equal points.

Lower Teams Face Tough IPL Qualification Challenge

Chennai Super Kings must win at least three of their remaining four matches to stay strongly in contention. Their positive net run rate may help if several teams finish with similar points. Delhi Capitals, however, have no room for mistakes now. They must win every remaining game and also improve their poor net run rate.

Kolkata Knight Riders need to win all five remaining matches to stay alive, while Mumbai Indians must win every game and depend on other teams to lose. Lucknow Super Giants are almost out because their weak net run rate makes qualification nearly impossible even if results go in their favor.

As the tournament enters its final stage, the battle for the third and fourth playoff spots promises high drama and unexpected twists.
