Captain Babar Azam logically chose Mohammad Amir for the Super Over against the USA. However, the veteran left-arm pacer struggled against the left-handed Harmeet, bowling three wides. Additionally, Pakistan’s sloppy fielding contributed to seven extra runs, resulting in an 18-run over that the 2009 champions couldn’t chase down.

Jadeja Defends Amir’s Super Over Performance, Cites Ashwin’s Return
Amir faced criticism from experts after Pakistan’s unexpected loss in the Group A match. However, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja defended him, highlighting that Amir had only returned to the national team last month after a four-year retirement and was given a significant responsibility.
