Abhishek Sharma credited Suryakumar Yadav for his dazzling century in the fifth T20I against England. He played a key role in India’s 150-run victory and 4-1 series win. Abhishek scored a 37-ball century. Making it the second-fastest century by an Indian in men’s T20Is.

“I was in a zone where I was simply reacting to the ball. I wasn’t even aware of my score,” Abhishek said post-match. “He just asked Surya paaji, ‘What do you think?’ He advised me to take my time since a wicket had fallen and to take a couple of balls. That really helped me. I owe this century and my highest score to him. At that moment, I didn’t realize I was on track to hit the second-fastest hundred for India.”

Abhishek made a strong start, reaching fifty in just 17 balls. After nine overs, he was on 94 off 32 balls. Eyeing the Indian record for the fastest T20I century held by Rohit Sharma (35 balls). He finished with a 54-ball 135, setting a new record for India’s highest individual score in men’s T20Is.
