Bangladesh announced their 16-member squad for the two-Test series in India on September 12, retaining seniors like Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mushfiqur Rahim, while also including younger players Nayeem Hasan and Nahid Rana.
Bangladesh will arrive in India on September 15, ahead of the first Test at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Shoriful Islam, sidelined for the second Test against Pakistan due to a groin injury, will also miss the upcoming tour.
India will arrive in Chennai by Thursday evening, gaining three extra days to acclimate. Their 15-member squad was announced a day after the Duleep Trophy’s first round ended.

Bangladesh’s squad includes Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Jaker Ali, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, Taijul Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Nayeem Hasan, and Khaled Ahmed.
Bangladesh, now fourth in the World Test Championship 2023-25 table after a 2-0 series win over Pakistan, could secure a spot in the June 2025 finale by winning at least four of their remaining six Tests.
India, currently leading the table, is on track for their third consecutive WTC final, set to be held at Lord’s from June 11 to 15, 2025.
