‘I still hesitate to meet MS Dhoni’: Ravindra Jadeja says, ‘It’s visible on his face when he’s not in the mood’

In a conversation with his Chennai Super Kings teammate Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja shared a memory of the first time he saw MS Dhoni on a flight back in 2005. Jadeja admitted feeling nervous about approaching the legendary cricketer. Over the years, Jadeja and Dhoni have built a strong friendship, strengthened by their long-standing association with CSK. Jadeja, who made his international debut under Dhoni’s captaincy, credited Dhoni’s early support as a key factor in his growth and success at the highest level.

Jadeja Opens Up on First Meeting and Enduring Bond with Dhoni

With Dhoni already retired from international cricket, the camaraderie between the two can be seen both on and off the field during the IPL every season. One can’t forget the image of Dhoni lifting Jadeja when he hit the winning runs for CSK to lift the IPL 2023 title. In a chat with CSK teammate Ravichandran Ashwin, Jadeja opened up about the first time he saw Dhoni on a flight in 2005. He was hesitant to even meet him, which he revealed is also sometimes the case now.

Jadeja Recalls First Meeting with Dhoni on a Flight in 2005, Admits Still Feeling Hesitant Around Him

“I met MS Dhoni for the first time during the Challengers Trophy in 2005 in Chennai,” Jadeja said in the latest episode of Kutti Stories with Ash on R Ashwin’s YouTube channel. “We were on the same flight from Mumbai he was in business class, and I was in economy. Everyone kept saying Dhoni was sitting up front, but I felt too hesitant to go meet him. Even now, I sometimes hesitate to approach him when he’s not in the mood.” Ashwin then asked Jadeja if Dhooni, known for his calm and composed nature, ever gets angry.
