In their opening match on Friday in Dallas, Pakistan was shocked by World Cup debutants and co-hosts USA in a Super Over. Despite this humiliating defeat, they made a strong comeback in New York, where their bowlers restricted India to just 119 runs, their lowest-ever T20 World Cup total. However, Pakistan’s batters faltered under pressure during the chase, ultimately losing by six runs. It’s important to consider that Pakistan will also need to address the net run rate (NRR) factor. Since their match against the USA ended in a Super Over, NRR was not calculated.

Path to super eight, pakistan can qualify for the 2024 T20 world cup
Pakistan has two more group stage matches remaining—against Canada on Tuesday in New York and against Ireland on June 16 in Lauderhill. If India defeats the USA, Pakistan then hopes Ireland will beat the USA. Although Ireland started poorly, losing to both Canada and India, they won’t necessarily be underdogs against the 12th-ranked USA.
