Harbhajan Singh Criticizes Kamran Akmal for Racist Joke on Arshdeep Singh

Former Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal was heavily criticised by former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh for making a racist comment against Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh. Akmal is seen making the contentious comment during a match on a Pakistani TV channel in a video that has gone viral on social media.

Arshdeep Singh was scheduled to bowl the final over as India was drawing closer to victory when the incident happened in the 19th over of Pakistan’s batting innings. Harbhajan Singh responded right away to Akmal’s remark, which disparaged Arshdeep’s faith.

Harbhajan Singh Slams Kamran on X

Harbhajan vented his rage on X, the former Twitter. “Kamraan Akhmal laanat tere lakh di. Before you open your dirty mouth, you should be aware of the history of the Sikhs. When our mothers and sisters were kidnapped by invaders, we Sikhs always managed to save them at twelve o’clock. Disgrace to you Enjoy some thankfulness, @KamiAkmal23,” he wrote.

The remarks made by Akmal provoked a great deal of anger among cricket lovers and supporters. Many expressed their displeasure and wrath towards the former Pakistani cricket player, denouncing the comment as unsuitable and callous.

Kamran Akmal Issues Apology

Following the criticism, Kamran Akmal apologised in public for his comments on Arshdeep Singh. The apology sought to resolve the dispute and defuse the tension.

Indian bowlers, captained by Jasprit Bumrah, beat Pakistan by a dramatic six runs in the encounter. Hardik Pandya’s assistance (2/24) and Bumrah’s outstanding performance (3/14) were vital in limiting Pakistan to 113 for seven while defending a modest score of 120.
