Pramac Ducati’s new rider, Franco Morbidelli, faces uncertainty over his participation in the upcoming Sepang MotoGP test. Morbidelli, who recently suffered a Superbike training accident at Portimao, requiring hospital treatment, had successful CT scans.
However, with just two days left before the scheduled test on February 6, Pramac announced a delay in his medical evaluation to determine eligibility. The postponement aims to ensure a comprehensive understanding of Morbidelli’s fitness for the upcoming test days.
The incident at Portimao saw Marc and Alex Marquez provide initial assistance until marshals arrived.

Marquez Brothers Rush to Aid Unconscious Morbidelli Ahead of Sepang MotoGP Test
Franco Morbidelli was found unconscious in the run-off area. Marc and Alex Marquez, fellow riders training on production bikes, immediately stopped to assist. Acting swiftly, they placed Morbidelli in a recovery position to ensure proper breathing. The Marquez brothers opened Morbidelli’s leather suit and helmet before medical staff arrived.
Despite being competitors, the Marquez brothers emphasized their camaraderie, expressing a shared desire for the well-being of their fellow riders. The incident occurred just days before the crucial three-day Sepang MotoGP test, marking one of the two official tests before the 2024 racing season begins.
