Australia’s debutant Josh Tongue took his third wicket, and Ollie Robinson took the last. England scored quickly, but Australia’s short ball barrage in the third session led to England losing three wickets, including Joe Root. Ben Stokes and Harry Brook helped Australia reach stumps, leaving England 278/4 at the end of ENG vs AUS Ashes 2nd Test Day 2.

England trailed by 138 runs, 359 runs, and 9 wickets today. Stokes and Brook’s partnership gave them the advantage after losing three wickets in 45 minutes. They are on 56 runs off 94 balls for the fifth wicket.

He now has the same number of Test centuries as Steve Waugh, who held the previous record. He had taken roughly four balls to reach 99, with Anderson’s stunning yorker serving as the final one. Lord’s was making all kinds of noises, but Smith has ice coursing through him.
