A widely shared clip on social media captures an unfiltered Rohit Sharma candidly telling Virat Kohli that people assume they are retiring from ODIs, even though that’s not true.
“Abhi ham koi retire nahi ho rahe. ******* inko toh lag raha hai (We aren’t retiring),” Rohit says in the clip leaving Kohli in splits.

Rohit top-scored for India with 76 off 83 to help them chase down the target of 252 set by New Zealand in the final. For his performance, the 37-year-old won player-of-the-final award.
“It is very nice. We played some really good cricket whole through the tournament, to come out here and having the result our way is a great feeling, very very happy with how we played this game,” Rohit said during the post-match presentation.
In the twilight of his career, Rohit has adapted an aggressive approach with the bat which often sets the ton of the innings.
“It (attacking game) is not natural to me but it is something I really wanted to do. When you are trying to do something different you need the backing of the team. You need the backing of the management and they were right through with me. In the ODI World Cup as well with Rahul bhai. This is what I spoke to him and he was very much okay with it. And now Gauti bhai as well. It’s all about getting the backing of the team and the management as well,” he said.
