On Sunday, Jeremy Lalrinnunga clinched second gold in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Jeremy was brilliant during the men’s 67 kg weightlifting event. The 19-year-old thrashed the opponents by lifting a total weight of 300 kg and also registered a games record.
Vipava Ioane bagged the silver medal with an overall lift of 293 kg with 127 kg in snatch and 166 kg in clean and jerk. This means Jeremy was an indomitable winner with a gap of 7 kg in the first and the second spot. On the other hand, Edidiong Umoafia finished with the bronze medal by 290 kg lift with 130 kg in snatch and 160kg in clean and jerk. Jeremy’s best lift was registered in her second snatch attempt at 140 kgs. He lifted 136 kg in his 1st attempt. However, she failed to lift 143 kg in her third attempt.
