Actor-politician Vijay attacked the DMK at a public meeting in Erode, calling it an “evil force.” He projected his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as a “clean and pure” alternative ahead of 2026. Vijay accused the government of corruption, mismanagement, and failing promises across education, jobs, and safety. He said his bond with the people spans over 34 years and cannot be broken by conspiracies. Referring to local culture, Vijay highlighted turmeric as a symbol of auspicious beginnings and regional pride.

Vijay Calls DMK ‘Evil’, Praises TVK as Clean Force
Vijay criticized the government’s handling of irrigation, agriculture, and environmental issues, highlighting local concerns. He called out unfulfilled promises, like river linking and NEET bans, and alleged corruption in procurement systems. Vijay demanded fair turmeric pricing, seed distribution, and protection of rivers and natural resources. He also raised economic issues, including pending weavers’ payments and high MSME power rates. He urged the people to hold the government accountable for its failures and unmet commitments.
Invoking Periyar, Vijay praised Anna and MGR, emphasizing that TVK follows their principles honestly. He warned against politicians misusing Periyar’s name to exploit citizens, declared DMK as TVK’s enemy. Vijay welcomed former minister Sengottaiyan into TVK and hinted at more leaders joining ahead of 2026. He reassured the crowd that TVK will oppose only those contesting against its ideology. He emphasized that public support motivates him to continue pursuing social, political, and economic reforms.

Vijay highlighted that unchecked sand quarrying and pending irrigation projects threaten local communities’ livelihoods. He urged people to support TVK to ensure transparency, accountability, and sustainable development in the state.
Vijay concluded by linking Erode’s identity to agriculture and cultural heritage, praising community dedication historically. He emphasized that people’s confidence gives him strength to lead political and social change effectively. Rejecting claims of cinematic-style speeches, he focused on real issues affecting education, safety, and farmers. He repeated that DMK is an “evil force,” while TVK remains a “clean and pure” political alternative. The rally ended with Sengottaiyan presenting Vijay the sengol, symbolizing leadership commitment and public trust.
