Nitin Gadkari anticipates the road’s inauguration within 2-3 months, potentially transforming travel times in the city, marking a significant change.
Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari made an announcement about the upcoming Urban Extension Road 2 during an interaction with the Indian Diaspora at the 27th World Road Congress in Prague.
Mr. Gadkari announced that they would open Urban Extension Road 2, a ring road, in 2-3 months. Usually, the journey from Delhi to the airport takes 2 hours,but with this road opening,it will be just 20 minutes.
In his speech, Mr.Gadkari announced the imminent opening of Urban Extension Road 2, a significant ring road project in Delhi. He stated that the road would be inaugurated within the next 2-3 months, potentially revolutionizing travel times in the city.
The development of Urban Extension Road 2 aims to significantly reduce travel time and congestion for commuters traveling to the airport and various parts of the city, enhancing connectivity and easing traffic congestion in the Indian capital.
Nitin Gadkari announced India’s aim to become the world’s top automobile manufacturing hub in 3 to 4 years. He noted that India’s automobile industry grew from ₹4.5 lakh crore to ₹12.5 lakh crore in the past nine years.
The minister said the Automobile industry has given jobs to 4.5 crore people of the country. He also spoke about the government’s strategy of gradually moving away from the use of diesel and petrol.
“All the vehicles in Nagpur such as tractors, buses, and cars are running through bio-CNG…I have a dream to get India rid of petrol and diesel…It’s a difficult dream to achieve but not impossible” Mr Gadkari said.
Ambassador Hemant Kotalwar greeted Minister Gadkari traditionally in the ‘Maharashtrian way’ upon his arrival at Prague airport on October 1. He visited Prague as part of his official tour, joining the Ministerial session on Road Safety at the 27th World-Road-Congress.
