Tamil Nadu Leads in Election Polling, with All 39 Lok Sabha Seats Voting in First Phase on April 19. The BJP has been actively campaigning, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi making multiple visits since the election schedule announcement. While the DMK and AIADMK dominate the spotlight, the BJP aims to increase its vote share and secure seats. The INDIA bloc in Tamil Nadu, led by the DMK, encompasses various parties including the Congress, Left parties, IUML, VCK, MNM, MDMK, and KMDK. Seat-sharing discussions within the bloc have been largely harmonious, mirroring the 2019 arrangement, with the DMK leading with 21 seats.

Split with BJP, AIA DMK seeks support
After breaking ties with the BJP last October due to escalating tensions and differences with BJP state unit chief K Annamalai, the AIADMK has sought support from other quarters. Besides the notable DMDK, which both AIADMK and BJP sought, AIADMK has formed an alliance with smaller parties like Puthiya Tamilagam (PT) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). AIADMK retains 32 seats for itself, allocating 5 to DMDK, 1 each to PT and SDPI. Similarly, the BJP has forged alliances with regional parties including PMK, AMMK, TMC-M, IJK, and Puthiya Neethi Katchi. Contesting in 23 seats, BJP allocated 10 to PMK, 3 to TMC-M, and 2 to AMMK, while also extending support to former Panneerselvam as an Independent.
