The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) greeted the Supreme Court’s ruling granting bail to their Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, in the Delhi excise policy case. Following the court’s decision, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj held a press conference, commending the verdict. He emphasized the court’s scrutiny of the evidence presented by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), highlighting the lack of substantial findings against Singh.
Bharadwaj underscored the significance of the court’s inquiries, noting the absence of satisfactory responses from the authorities. He remarked that the bail granted to Singh marked a pivotal moment for democracy. Another AAP leader, Atishi, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the triumph of truth and the exposure of false accusations against AAP leaders.

BJP’s Perspective on Sanjay Singh’s Bail
Shehzad Poonawalla, spokesperson for the BJP, stated that the grant of bail to Sanjay Singh by the Supreme Court, especially when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) did not oppose it, nullifies AAP’s claims of vendetta politics by investigative agencies. He emphasized that AAP leaders being granted bail does not equate to exoneration, suggesting it implies acknowledgment of guilt. The Supreme Court permitted Singh to engage in political activities but refrained from commenting on the case.
