Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the first day of Parliament’s special session. Unity on quota bill, assurance of fairness

Furthermore, PM Modi said the bill would not disturb the current seat ratio. He stressed that the system in place would continue. He also said the decision-making process would remain balanced. At the same time, he noted that lawmakers now have a chance to give the country a new direction.

No political credit, warning to opponents

At the same time, PM Modi said the bill should not be seen as a win for one party. Instead, he called it a collective success for the entire nation. He also said he does not want personal credit. In fact, he offered to acknowledge everyone’s contribution.

However, he warned those opposing the bill. He said women of the country would not forgive such opposition. He added that women have not forgotten past resistance to their rights. Therefore, he urged leaders to support the bill without giving it a political colour.

Finally, PM Modi said this move would strengthen democracy. He added that it would improve the country’s decision-making process. He stressed that this is not a favour to women. Instead, he said it is a right that was denied for years.
