Netaji’s grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose quits BJP

Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew, left the BJP on Wednesday, claiming disputes, in advance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In West Bengal, Chandra Kumar Bose served as the BJP’s vice president from 2016 until his dismissal in 2020. He said in his letter of resignation that the BJP did not support him in spreading the views of the Bose brothers, Subash and Sarat, either at the national or state level.

Netaji’s grandnephew said

“Neither at the federal level nor at the state level in West Bengal, the BJP has offered any assistance to my own impassioned promotional efforts to accomplish these commendable goals. I had proposed in great detail a Bengal approach to connect with the Bengali people. My suggestions were rejected. Given these sad events, it has become hard for me to continue being a member of the BJP. It is with a clear conscience, he stated.

In the letter, it was said that “I have chosen to take this important step on a historic occasion for the Bose family, which is the 134th birth anniversary of my grandfather Sarat Chandra Bose, the elder brother, mentor, and comrade-in-arms of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Netaji

Chandra Kumar Bose lauded PM Modi’s leadership and development plans when discussing what led him to join the BJP. “My conversations at that time centered on the Bose Brothers’ inclusive philosophy. I believed that I would use the BJP platform to spread this concept across the country, both at the time and since. The formation of an Azad Hind Morcha within the BJP was also decided upon. The main goal of spreading Netaji’s philosophy of unifying all communities as Bharatiyas. It is regardless of religion, caste, and creed, Chandra Bose wrote.

Chandra Bose addressed the India versus Bharat argument after he announced his resignation. He claimed that it was irrelevant because India is Bharat, as stated explicitly in the Constitution.
