Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized the Narendra Modi government, stating that under the BJP, paper leaks have become a “national problem,” adversely affecting the futures of millions of young people. In a post on X, she accused the BJP of corruption, claiming it is weakening the nation.

“In the past five years, there have been leaks in the papers of 43 recruitment exams across the country,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote in Hindi. She stated that under BJP rule, paper leaks have become a national issue, devastating the futures of millions of young people. Gandhi accused the BJP government of weakening the youth instead of empowering them with skills and capabilities. “Millions of dedicated students study tirelessly, preparing for various exams, while their parents endure financial hardships to cover education costs,” she wrote. “Students spend years waiting for job vacancies, and when they finally appear, they incur costs for filling out forms and traveling to exam centers, only for corruption to render their efforts in vain.” BJP’s corruption is undermining the country.”

Gandhi Criticizes UGC-NET Cancellation Amid NEET Irregularities Controversy
Gandhi criticized the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) decision to cancel the UGC-NET examination a day after it had been conducted. The UGC-NET test determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for junior research fellowships, assistant professorships, and PhD admissions in Indian universities and colleges. This decision came amid a major controversy over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the NEET medical entrance exam. NEET is a national examination administered by the NTA for undergraduate medical program admissions.
The examination took place on May 5 at 4,750 centers, with approximately 24 lakh candidates participating. Although they initially scheduled the results for release on June 14, they announced them early on June 4 because they had completed the evaluation of the answer sheets ahead of time.

Allegations of Paper Leaks and Irregularities Spark Protests and Legal Actions
Allegations of question paper leaks in states like Bihar and other irregularities in the prestigious exam have prompted protests in several cities and led to petitions in various high courts and the Supreme Court. The Opposition has called for a probe supervised by a sitting Supreme Court judge. Additionally, some leaders have demanded the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the disbanding of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
On Thursday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the formation of a high-level committee to review the functioning of the NTA. “The government will establish a high-level committee to investigate various issues related to the NTA. The minister stated at a press conference that the committee will provide recommendations to enhance the NTA’s structure, functioning, examination process, transparency, and data security protocols. He emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring error-free exams.
