Melody Diplomacy Boosts Parle’s Global Brand Presence

Parle Products received a major boost after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Melody toffees to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his Italy visit. A short video shared by Meloni quickly went viral on social media and triggered a sharp rise in demand for the popular candy across India.

Melody Boost

Quick-commerce platforms such as Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart reported a sudden spike in Melody searches, while several cities saw the product go out of stock. Parle Products Vice President Mayank Pravinchandra Shah called the moment a “pleasant surprise” and expressed pride over the international recognition received by the Indian brand.

Shah said the gesture highlighted the strength of “Swadeshi” brands on the global stage. He thanked PM Modi for promoting Indian products internationally and stated that Melody already reaches consumers in more than 100 countries.

Following the viral attention, Parle now plans to expand Melody’s global presence beyond Indian communities living abroad. The company aims to introduce the candy to local consumers in international markets and strengthen its position worldwide.

The viral “Melodi” trend, combining the names Modi and Meloni, also reflected the growing partnership between India and Italy. Both countries continue strengthening trade and economic ties through projects like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).

Despite speculation in the stock market after investors mistakenly bought shares of Parle Industries, Shah clarified that Parle Products currently has no plans to launch a public listing. He also encouraged consumers to support more Indian brands and help promote them globally.
