Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah exercised their voting rights in Ahmedabad as the third phase of Lok Sabha elections commenced across 93 constituencies. While polling remained peaceful in most states, sporadic incidents of violence surfaced in West Bengal. PM Modi emphasized the significance of voting, comparing it to the virtue of ‘Daan’, urging citizens to participate in the electoral process actively. Accompanied by Shah, who is contesting from Gandhinagar, Modi encouraged voters and advised them to stay hydrated amidst the scorching heat.
In Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, his wife Sunetra Pawar (the NCP candidate from Baramati), and NCP chief Sharad Pawar cast their votes. After casting his vote, PM Modi interacted with supporters and shared a light moment with a child amidst the growing crowd. However, clashes erupted in West Bengal’s Jangipur between BJP and Trinamool Congress workers, with allegations of voter influence.
