Kejriwal calls Punjab CM, MLAs; Congress, BJP allege AAP rift

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has called Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, ministers, and MLAs to Delhi for a meeting on Tuesday. While AAP described it as an “organizational meeting” to review their work in the Delhi polls, rivals see it as a move to shield the government and possibly oust Mann from his post. The meeting has fueled speculation about internal unrest over unmet poll promises and tensions between Kejriwal and Mann. BJP’s Tarun Chugh claimed Mann’s government is on a “countdown,” while MLA Majinder Sirsa warned of plans to remove him.

Political Turmoil in Punjab(CM): Congress Predicts Mid-Term Polls

Congress has hinted at possible mid-term elections in Punjab, with Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa claiming that over 30 AAP MLAs are in contact with them. Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa stated that the election outcome depends on how many AAP MLAs switch sides, asserting that Congress is their only viable option since BJP has no stronghold in the state.

Meanwhile, AAP spokesperson Neel Garg dismissed the claims, accusing BJP leader Majinder Sirsa of spreading rumors to secure a position as Delhi CM. He asserted that Mann leads a stable AAP government and advised Sirsa to focus on BJP’s unfulfilled poll promises in Delhi.

AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang also dismissed dissent speculation, comparing Bajwa’s claims to “Mungerilal’s dreams” and calling Kejriwal’s meeting with Punjab MLAs a routine strategy session. However, following Kejriwal’s meeting call, the Punjab CM government postponed a long-pending cabinet meeting. BJP’s Tarun Chugh criticized the Mann government, alleging its failure in tackling liquor, sand, and mining mafias.
