The crowd held signs reading “We love Joe,” to which the President responded with heartfelt gratitude, saying, “thank you, thank you, thank you… I love you!” President Biden was introduced by his daughter, Ashley Biden, who expressed, “You always tell us, but we don’t tell you enough, that you are the love of our lives and the life of our love.” The 81-year-old Commander-in-Chief became teary-eyed as he joined his daughter on stage. He began his speech with a touching tribute to his children and wife, Jill. The father-daughter duo shared a hug and exchanged words, and Biden took out a handkerchief to dab his eyes.

Biden Rallies Support for Kamala Harris and Democracy

In his address, President Biden energizingly asked the crowd, “Are you ready to vote for freedom, democracy, and America?” to which they responded with a resounding “yes!” He then amplified the enthusiasm by asking if they were ready to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, receiving an even louder cheer. Reflecting on the past three and a half years since he took office, including challenges like COVID-19, historic joblessness, racial justice demands, and threats to democracy, Biden expressed gratitude and declared, “With a grateful heart, I stand before you now on this August night to report that democracy has prevailed. Democracy has delivered, and now democracy must be preserved.”

Biden Praises Harris and Criticizes Trump’s Criminal Record

President Biden shifted his focus to Kamala Harris while also highlighting his own achievements. He praised Harris and criticized Donald Trump’s recent criminal record, noting the national decline in violent crime. Biden emphasized that the murder rate is “falling faster” and asserted that crime would continue to decrease with a prosecutor in the Oval Office instead of a convicted felon. He denounced Trump as a “loser” for claiming that America is in decline, countering that Trump’s assertions are incorrect and that he is “dead wrong” about the state of the nation.
