Israel Claims Strike Killed Iran Security Chief Ali Larijani

Israel intensified tensions in the Middle East after launching overnight strikes on strategic locations inside Iran, with reports indicating that the operation targeted senior officials connected to the country’s security establishment. According to multiple media reports, the strikes may have targeted Ali Larijani, one of Iran’s most influential security figures, although authorities have not yet confirmed whether he was killed or injured.

Reports indicate that the strike targeted Ali Larijani, who currently serves as the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, placing him among the key figures affected by the overnight attack. However, officials have not yet confirmed whether the operation killed or injured him during the incident. Several international media outlets also reported that authorities are still assessing the impact of the strike while investigators continue to evaluate the damage and possible casualties linked to the operation.

At the same time, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz publicly stated that the military operation carried out by Israel resulted in the death of Ali Larijani. However, Iranian authorities have not officially confirmed these claims, and the situation remains uncertain as officials continue to gather details and verify information emerging from the reported strike.

Israel Strike Targets Senior Iranian Security Officials

Israel reportedly conducted a series of strikes overnight against several strategic sites across Iran, targeting individuals believed to be closely connected with the country’s security and military leadership. According to regional media reports, the attacks also aimed at other senior figures within Iran’s security network.

The strikes reportedly targeted Gholamreza Soleimani, who leads the Basij Resistance Force, an organisation closely linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. However, authorities have not yet confirmed whether the operation killed him, although analysts believe the attacks could significantly affect Iran’s internal security leadership.

If officials confirm reports about Ali Larijani, he would become the most senior Iranian figure killed since Ali Khamenei, whose death earlier in the conflict deeply shocked the region. Larijani built a reputation as a powerful political strategist and maintained close ties with Khamenei, which made him a highly influential figure within Iran’s governing structure.

Larijani Message Highlights Growing Regional Tensions

Shortly before reports about the strike surfaced, Ali Larijani addressed the Muslim world and strongly criticised the United States and Israel, insisting that Iran would continue its confrontation with both countries despite increasing military pressure. He emphasised that Tehran would remain firm in its position and would not retreat from what he described as a broader struggle against foreign influence in the region.

Later, Iranian state broadcaster Press TV released remarks attributed to Larijani in which he criticised Donald Trump for dismissing large anti-American and anti-Israel demonstrations that had taken place across several Iranian cities. Larijani argued that these protests represented genuine public anger and insisted that people across Iran had gathered voluntarily rather than appearing in fabricated or manipulated images.

In his message to Muslim-majority nations, Larijani also expressed disappointment that several governments had not openly supported Iran after the recent attacks. He claimed that Iran had faced what he described as coordinated aggression involving the United States and Israel, and he argued that these actions aimed to weaken the country’s political system and its influence in the region.

Meanwhile, analysts say the developments illustrate how rapidly rising tensions between Iran and Israel continue to reshape the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. Experts believe that if authorities confirm reports about Larijani’s fate, the situation could further intensify the conflict and prompt additional political and military responses across the region.
