Devendra Fadnavis Chosen as BJP Legislative Leader

The BJP core committee on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, selected former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as the party’s legislative leader, as per sources. This decision comes following the Mahayuti alliance’s overwhelming victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Devendra Fadnavis, alongside key leaders from the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is scheduled to meet Governor C.P.

Radhakrishnan later today to officially stake a claim to form the state government. The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, is all set to establish its new government after a decisive electoral win. On Tuesday, December 3, BJP leaders in Maharashtra held extensive discussions to finalize preparations for the swearing-in of the new Mahayuti government.
