Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will hold a press conference at 3 pm today as uncertainty remains over the CM nominee from the newly elected Mahayuti alliance.
The BJP became the largest party with 132 seats in the 280-member Maharashtra assembly, while allies Shiv Sena and NCP won 57 and 41 seats.
The Maharashtra assembly elections took place on November 20, and officials announced the results on November 23.
On Tuesday, Eknath Shinde resigned as Maharashtra CM and was appointed caretaker CM until the formation of a new government. However, the Mahayuti alliance has not yet decided on the leader of the Maharashtra government.

Eknath Shinde unhappy
RPI(A) leader Ramdas Athawale urged a quick decision on Maharashtra’s next CM and suggested Eknath Shinde move to the Centre.
In a Mumbai presser, Athawale backed Devendra Fadnavis for CM, highlighting BJP’s seat win in the 288-member Assembly.
He highlighted the situation where BJP backs Fadnavis for CM, while Shiv Sena supports Shinde for his performance.
