In its latest supplementary charge sheet, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of profiting from illegal funds generated through a criminal conspiracy related to the now-scrapped excise policy. The agency also alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was involved in the conspiracy from the outset. Playing a role in the formulation and implementation of the policy.

CBI Allegations: Preconceived Plot and Financial Gain
The CBI has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of devising a premeditated plan to privatize the excise policy in order to secure financial backing. According to the agency, Arvind Kejriwal’s close associate, Vijay Nair—who was granted bail earlier this week—allegedly sought illegal payments from business owners in return for favorable changes to the policy. The charge sheet also asserts that since Nair lacked the authority to negotiate with stakeholders. He could not have acted without direction from Kejriwal, as reported by ANI.

Misleading Election Expense Disclosure and Use of Illicit Funds
The CBI has alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) provided misleading information regarding its expenditure during the Goa election campaign. As it only disclosed payments made through banks, omitting cash payments to vendors, assembly managers, booth in-charges, and volunteers. The agency further claimed that the illicit funds generated from the excise policy conspiracy were funneled into AAP’s election campaign in Goa.

Evidence of Illicit Fund Management in Goa Elections
The CBI has revealed that both oral and documentary evidence indicate AAP leader Durgesh Pathak. Who oversaw the party’s Goa assembly election campaign, managed election expenditures. It was also established that Chanpreet Singh Rayat collected illicit funds through hawala channels in Goa and made cash payments. According to ANI, Rayat acted under the direct orders of Durgesh Pathak.
