Constitution Day: President Murmu calls it living, progressive

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the celebrations marking 75 years. Since the adoption of India’s Constitution with a joint address to both Houses of Parliament on November 26, 2024. The milestone commemorates the day the Constitution was adopted in 1949. Though it officially came into effect on January 26, 1950, when India became a republic.

To honor this historic occasion, the government has initiated year-long celebrations. As part of these initiatives, was launched on November 25, 2024. With these initiatives, the government seeks to honor the vision of the Constitution’s framers and inspire citizens to uphold its values in their daily lives.

PM Modi to Release Judiciary Report on Constitution Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in Constitution Day celebrations at the Supreme Court later today. During the event, he will release the annual report of the Indian Judiciary for the year 2023-24. This Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, highlights the significance of India’s founding document, a symbol of the nation’s commitment to democracy, justice, and equality. The ongoing celebrations aim to deepen public awareness of the Constitution’s principles and its role in shaping modern India.
