Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, has filed a petition with the Delhi High Court to quash the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) summons . To appear for questioning in relation to the suspected land-for-jobs scandal.
The appeal of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader is scheduled for hearing before Judge Dinesh Kumar Sharma tomorrow (Thursday).
Yadav has received three notices from the CBI thus far. He has yet to show up for questioning, though. Dated February 28, March 4, and March 11, respectively, the notices. When Lalu Prasad served as the Union Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009, allegations of appointments. In the railroad industry made in exchange for land given to his family were the subject of the case.
The CBI argues that the Indian Railways’ recruiting standards and policies were not followed by the appointments made in the railroads.
Subsequently, on October 10, 2022, the CBI filed a charge-sheet against 16 persons, including Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi and their child.
Yadav plea to the court and bail granted to all of them
Yadav claims in his plea that the letters were sent out in violation of Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) . With the objective of harassing him and that he was a minor at the time of the alleged offence.
According to reports, Yadav is being requested to attend for questioning in Delhi . Despite though he is a resident of Patna, which is against the provision of Section 160 of the CrPC.
The three notices that were sent to him must be revoked, according to the plea. It requests a stay on the notices in the interim. A different prayer has been offered to interrogate Yadav at his home or via video conference.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, the father of Tejashwi Yadav and a former union minister, his wife Rabri Devi, and their daughter Misa Bharti were all granted bail. Earlier today in the same case by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court.
