On Monday, Rajasthan Chief Minister and prominent Congress leader Ashok Gehlot made a veiled remark aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, humorously referring to himself as a “bigger fakir.”
Gehlot attacked the PM on several issues during the inauguration of Rajasthan’s new districts, saying, “The people of the state should trust me.” Whatever I say comes from the bottom of my heart. I am a bigger fakir than you, Modi ji. You’ve probably noticed that Modi Ji never wears the same outfit twice. I’m not sure if the dress is change once or three times a day. I wear the same outfit because I am not a fakir?” Gehlot stated.
“I’ve never bought a plot in my life.” I haven’t purchased a home. I haven’t purchased a single gramme of gold. What kind of fakir would be bigger than me? “PM Modi’s spectacles cost 2.5 lakh rupees,” he said.

On Monday, Gehlot inaugurated 17 new districts in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan map has undergone a significant transformation, growing from 33 to 50 districts. The BJP, on the other hand, claims that this is a pointless exercise to boost the chances of Congress candidates in the upcoming elections.
The Chief Minister also stated that while he has considered leaving the CM’s chair, the position will not leave him.
Gehlot stated that he respects the Prime Minister’s position, saying, “The Prime Minister belongs to the country, not to the BJP.” However, the Prime Minister continues to believe that he is the BJP’s PM. He is only the Prime Minister of Hindus, which is a very dangerous position. You were elected Prime Minister of a democracy, and democracy was established in the country by the Congress.”
