Prateek Yadav’s Funeral To Take Place In Lucknow Today

The last rites of Prateek Yadav, younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, will take place in Lucknow today. His wife, Aparna Yadav, confirmed the funeral details through a social media post on Wednesday. She said the cremation will be held at Baikunth Dham, also known as Bhainsakund, at 11 am on Thursday. Prateek Yadav died on Wednesday at the age of 38 after a sudden medical emergency. His death has shocked family members, political circles, and supporters of the Yadav family across Uttar Pradesh.

According to medical findings, Prateek Yadav died due to cardiorespiratory collapse caused by massive pulmonary thromboembolism. This condition occurs when a large blood clot blocks one or more major arteries in the lungs. Doctors said the blockage can severely affect blood flow and breathing. Prateek was taken to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital around 6 am on Wednesday. However, doctors declared him dead after examination. Hospital officials said he showed no signs of life when he reached the facility. They also noted that he had no pulse and his pupils were fixed and dilated. Only members of his household staff reportedly accompanied him to the hospital.

Sources said Prateek had been unwell for some time before his death. He had also received treatment at a private hospital in Lucknow recently. However, his sudden passing still came as a major shock. Prateek largely stayed away from active politics, unlike several members of the Yadav family. His wife Aparna Yadav is currently associated with the BJP and serves as vice-chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission.

Earlier this year, Prateek and Aparna had publicly spoken about differences in their marriage. In January, Prateek posted messages on Instagram and indicated that he wanted a divorce. He also made several allegations against Aparna in those posts. However, the couple later announced that they had resolved the matter after mutual discussions. Prateek then shared videos and family photographs, suggesting reconciliation. His death has now brought renewed attention to the family during a deeply difficult moment.
