Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt passes away at 36

Shortly after the passing of WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk, the wrestling community has been dealt another blow. Windham Rotunda, a former WWE champion widely recognized as Bray Wyatt, sadly left us on August 24 at the young age of 36. The announcement of his demise came from ‘Triple H,’ the Chief Content Officer and a 14-Time World Champion. It’s been reported by wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp on X that Wyatt’s untimely demise was a result of a heart attack.

In his post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he wrote, “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda — also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today,” Levesque wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.”

WWE Mourns the Loss of Windham Rotunda, aka Bray Wyatt

WWE issued a statement expressing their sorrow at the news of Windham Rotunda’s, also known as Bray Wyatt, passing on August 24 at the age of 36. They offers their sympathies to Rotunda’s family, friends, and supporters during this time of loss.

Former wrestler and actor Dwayne Johnson who is popularly known as ‘The Rock’ said he is heartbroken by the news of Wyatt’s demise. In his post, he wrote, “I’m heartbroken over the news of Bray Wyatt’s passing. Always had tremendous respect and love for him and the Rotunda family. Loved his presence, promos, in ring work and connection with wwe universe. Very unique, cool and rare character, which is hard to create in our crazy world of pro wrestling. Still processing losing the goat, Terry Funk yesterday and now Bray today. My love, light, strength & mana to the Rotunda family and Funk family during this tough, heartbreaking time. As always, ‘thank you for the house’.”

Wyatt’s career

Wyatt won world champion in WWE thrice of which he once won WWE Championship while twice won the Universal Championship. Media reports stated that there were rumours about him dealing with an injury. It was due to which he also wasn’t seen on TV since February 2023.
