Officials reported on Monday that police have arrested Sonam, the wife of Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi—who was found dead in Meghalaya during their honeymoon—for allegedly plotting his murder by hiring contract killers.

Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) Idashisha Nongrang said that they arrested three other accused in overnight raid. Authorities found one person in Uttar Pradesh and arrested the other two in Indore. The accused told the police that Sonam had hired them to kill her husband.

Police are questioning the accused and investigating further, officials said.

He said in a post on X, “The #meghalayapolice have achieved a major breakthrough in the Raja murder case within 7 days… They have arrested 3 assailants from Madhya Pradesh, the female has surrendered, and the operation to catch one more assailant is still ongoing… well done.”
