On Saturday, a temporary stage collapse at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium resulted in at least eight individuals sustaining injuries, while two others were safely rescued. The incident occurred close to Gate Number 2 of the stadium during ongoing work.
Upon receiving the alert, a team comprising Delhi Police and fire tenders promptly arrived at the scene to provide assistance. Those injured were shifted to a hospital, a Delhi Police official confirmed. A search operation at the site was underway.

Commenting on the incident, DCP South, Ankit Chauhan, said, “The incident happened at around 11 am today.”
“One pandal, which was under preparation at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium at Gate Number 2, fell. Initiatially, nearlu 12 people were suspected to be trapped.”
“All were removed and were taken to AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) for treatment,” he said.
“As of now, no fatality has been reported. A team of police, fire and ambulance were there on the spot for other rescue efforts,” the DCP said.
