Seva Teerth Inaugurated: PM Modi Takes Key Decisions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the ‘Seva Teerth’ complex, a new integrated hub that now houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat under one roof. Earlier, these institutions operated from separate locations across the capital. Officials often had to coordinate between different buildings. Now, the government has brought them together to speed up decision-making and improve efficiency at the top administrative level.

In its official statement, the Centre said the complex marks a major shift in India’s governance structure. It reflects a push for modern, transparent and citizen-focused administration. The wall of Seva Teerth carries the motto ‘Nagriko Devo Bhava’ (Citizens akin to God). Through this message, the government highlights its focus on public service and accountability.

Significance of the Seva Teerth Inauguration and Key Features

The Prime Minister chose February 13 for the inauguration because of its historic value. On this day in 1931, authorities formally declared New Delhi as India’s capital. The date adds symbolic importance to the launch of the new complex. Along with Seva Teerth, PM Modi also inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2. Several key ministries will now function from these buildings. The government designed the new offices to improve coordination and create a more organized administrative setup.

The complexes feature digitally integrated office systems and structured public interface zones. They also include centralized reception facilities to make access easier. Designers followed 4-Star GRIHA green building standards while planning the structures. The buildings use renewable energy systems and water conservation methods. They also include modern waste management solutions. Authorities installed smart access control systems, surveillance networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure. These measures reduce environmental impact and strengthen operational efficiency and security.

Major Decisions from the New Office

Soon after the inauguration, PM Modi began work from the new office and cleared several key proposals. He focused first on welfare measures for women, youth and vulnerable citizens. The government approved the launch of the PM RAHAT Scheme. Under this scheme, accident victims will receive cashless medical treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh. This step aims to prevent loss of life due to delayed medical care.

The government also expanded the Lakhpati Didi initiative, which promotes women’s financial empowerment through self-help groups. It achieved the milestone of 3 crore Lakhpati Didis ahead of the March 2027 target. Now, the Prime Minister has set a new goal of 6 crore beneficiaries by March 2029. In addition, he approved doubling the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore to strengthen the farm value chain. He also cleared the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a ₹10,000 crore corpus to boost innovation and deep-tech ventures. Together, these decisions reflect a strong push for welfare, rural growth and technological advancement.
